Back dated to 7th Aug:

It was a long journey. It was actually more tiring than exciting right now. I'm sure my eyes are read without looking into the mirror. I think I look shitty right now with super puffy eyebags, dark eye ring, super dry skin and oily hiar. Yes I've oily hair. *roll eyes* This must be a major discovery for me. But what do you expect after 13 hours of flying across a few time zones. The plane was an old plane but still it being SQ, is not that bad. My seat doesn't allow me to stretch my left leg coz there is a box underneath the seat infront of mine blocking me. So half the time I was slanted to one side coz it is an empty seat to my right. So basically the entire plane ride was sleep, eat, sleep and eat. I was just sleeping and sleeping coz it was dark all the way. The inflight meals was nice though. Supper was smoked turkey with past & vegetable salad, seared beed steak with red wine butter & sauteed vegetables, cheery crumble and cheese & crackers. Breakfast was fruit salad, chives omlette with chicken sausage and hash brown, cereal with milk and a bun. This is the last decent meal I have for the rest of the week.

When up in the air the temperature outside the plane dropped to -52 degrees. Quickly took the blanket to cover my fragile nose. The air was so dry that my nose hurts and there are traces of blood and it is still the case now coz the air is still as dry. After landing at London Heathrow Airport at the unearthly hour of 5am (12pm SG time), it was a 10 minute bus ride to another terminal to catch my connecting flight. Nearly peng san with my 10kg hand lugggage. Had to remove my jacket, belt, shoes and laptop for custom check. I reached the airport so early that the gate number for my connecting flight is not out yet and so I roam around aimlessly. The shops were all just starting to roll up their shutters. Wanted to use the internet in the airport but have to pay. -_-" I wanted to buy a drink but the prices are in pounds and all the currencies I have are euros and kroners. I think they will accept Euro as well but I was just too tired to want to put in extra effort just to get a drink so I endure all the way. The finally at 7.20am I saw the rest of the people flying in from another flight!!!

When we finally landed at Oslo, we discovered that almost half of the people didn't have their luggage. Apparently it was not on the plane but no one make any announcement or anything. It scare the daylight out of everybody. Luckily my luggage arrived safely. We wonder should the airline or the airport be blamed for all these hiccups. Those who had their luggage waited for like 2 hours for those w/o their luggage to find out what happen. This is when I discover the first horror. A bottle of 500ml of mineral water cost 20 NOK (SGD 5!!!). We contemplated for a very long time (ard 1hr) before we couldn't take it and bought the water. Water is so sacred here, so is tissue paper. And a toilet trip cost 5 NOK (ard SGD 1.40!) wth. The next horror is the kind of attitude the service staff offers. We wanted a guard to go in and let those who are stuck inside know the address of the hostel we're staying at but guess what the guard says. "I'm very busy, changing shift in 10 minutes" After this she continue standing there doing NOTHING. So busy.
Then the nightmare just continues coz every single signboards are in Norwegian, the first thing people say to you are in Norwegian and all the prices and food description are in Norwegian. So half the time we don't know what we are buying. Just guessing the ingredients based on the picture alone.

And the water from the tap are not clear. It is yellowish in colour. The locals says it is alright to drink from the tap, we don't dare. Especially not without boiling it first. So for now, we are buying mineral water everyday. Which is expensive! The vegetables and fruits are equally expensive. So with a diet lacking in vegetables, fruits and water..... you can imagine how healthy I can be.

Other than the rocket high prices of food, the cold harsh wind, the lack of tourist friendly signs, lack of clean drinking water, lack of tissue paper, lack of rice cooker etc, everything else is ok. So I guess I'll survive.
