Akershus Fortress was actually an old castle built to protect Oslo, the capital of Norway. It was first used in battle in 1308. It is still a military area today but is open to public. There are guards guarding certain parts of the fortress that are out of bounds to public and we managed to see a mini shift changing procedure. It was funny coz they march while leaning 45 degrees to the front. When they bang their feet, they will be off-balance for a split second, quit funny, or maybe it is only the person that I say that is like that. The fortress is situated just beside the harbour and the view from the fortress was good. Actually the view anywhere around that area is good. I love Norway for its beautiful sceneries - clear blue sky, sparkling blue water, nice greeneries and beautiful weather (if you're dressed warm enough).
It was 8 degress when we went out and by the time we return at around 7pm, temperature dropped to 4 degrees. I was dressed in jeans, turtle neck, scarf and jacket but my feet are freezing. Guess its really time to get a pair of boots. And I think I've a slight sunburnt/"wind-burnt" on my face. Its either the sun or the harsh wind.

Autumn is here and the trees are turning yellow and red.
btw, I saw the chestnut fruit today. It was everywhere in the fortress. There are quite a few chestnut trees inside.
