Ever since coming here for the exchange, I have been experiencing some kind of culture shock, to one extent or another. Actually it isn't much of a shock, but rather just a kind of relization of how things are different. But whenever I want to write them down, it would have slipped my mind. So while my brain juice are churning, I shall blog about it.

Cold Lunch, Dinner
I can't understand how they can stand eating bread / pasta everyday for lunch. Bread with a thin slice of cheese / ham, or maybe with caviar spread. (The spread stinks like hell, nothing near the yummy carviar I knew). It looks so pathetic. The sandwiches I brought to school looks better.

And I can never understand how they can survive on a slice of pizza and a bottle of coke for dinner. It isn't very filling is it?

Quiet Bus/Train Ride
People here are very quiet when in public places. There can be alot of people but you won't find them being noisy. They don't talk in the train/bus and even when they do, they don't make hell lot of noise like us. Are we such brats or what? Whenever we go to school, the whole world will know coz the moment all of us arrive at the station, it will be very prominent. Not only do we stand out in terms of features being asian and all, we are also noisy. It certainly doesn't help when a few of my classmates are extremly loud.

Lifestyle
I find that the distinct difference between exchange students from western countries and asian countries are our lifestyle. They are more the wild partying type while we are not. They are more friendly and their way of communicating is different too. But then so far we don't know anyone else except our own people. There are a few Canadians (on exchange too) in my class but somehow they never talk to us and are still contemplating how to start to talk to them. haha.

I am really very curious as to what a typical life as a norwegian is like. The houses they live in, the way they live, the food they eat, the things they do. If only there is such a thing as homestay. Probably can suggest this. ahha. No matter how hard we try to blend in with their lifestyle it is still different for we don't know what their actual lifestyle is like in the first place...
