Just spoke to my mum over skype and again she never fails to make me peng san. She told me that she sent another parcel to me and it cost her $70 in postage. I told her not to send but she insisted coz she didn't manage to include them in the previous parcel. Since she is sending I got her to buy me more pens and lip balm. And the total weight is like 3kg but why $70!? Coz of the stupid ppl working at SingPost la.. but that's a long story which I shall not elaborate. I was like..

Me: "Mum, if that's the case you can don't send you know. The content I think only cost $20."
Mum: "But I already pack everything nicely and bring to the post office."
Me: "You can bring them home leh.."
Mum: "Aiya, this is the last time I send la. So I just pay the money."

I . am . speechless.

Sometimes I wonder how my mum's brain function. I mean there is nothing important in the parcel save for a few curry/laksa paste or watever paste, my pens and lip balm.

So far I did not inform my mum of any of my travelling plans. She knew I was in 'another part of Norway' (Bergen) by chance coz she happen to call my hp. I didn't tell her I went Paris. I'm gg Barcelona next weekend and since that place have quite abit of negative reports for safety and belongings, I thought I should let her know. Gues what's her respons.

Me: "I'm gg Spain next weekend"
Mum: "Go play again ah. Don't need to study?"
Me: "Weekend...I say weekend! I fri no lesson."
Mum: "Keep saying no money still always go play. Like that is spending money already right."
Me: "Haiz... can take budget air. Spain in Europe. Is like from Sg go BKK/HK" (trying to illustrate that it is not v exp)
Her: "Like that also spend money. Ask you go there study....."
Me: " . . . . . . "

I . am . speechless . AGAIN.

Sometimes my mum's perspective on things really get on my nerves. I don't mean to get irritated for I know that she is from erm...another era.. but sometimes I really can't help but get irritated/pissed. I mean I don't understand why she doesn't get my point that since I'm here, I might as well try to travel to as many places in Europe as my finance allows. I told her it will be more expensive to fly from Sg to say Spain again. I asked her to guess how much it cost me to go Spain and she say S$100. I even told her I'm gg for 4 days. I . am . really. speechless.

And so I decided NOT to tell her any of my future travelling plans till I get back home and show her photos. =p
