Yesterday evening saw the most number of people in my kitchen. Almost all my neighbours are in there except for the family of blacks. We heard voices when Pooh & I walked towards the kitchen to prepare dinner and we thought it just so happen that there are people cooking their dinner as well and they will soon retreat to their rooms to eat. Boy! We were wrong!
Our jap neighbour together with his friend were cooking dinner together with our korean neighbour. Actually I think it is more of the jap guys cooking and the korean girl happen to went in to cook her dinner and they invited her to eat with them as well coz I saw a packet of korean instant noodles lying in a corner. Well...it was quite emabarassing coz we were as usual rather neglected. It was so awkard. They were standing and chatting away in one corner of the kitchen while Pooh & I were banished to another corner, near the door. We eneded up looking like 2 'door god' (men shen) I tell you. We did try to join in their conversation but seems like jap neighbour's fren is more interested to talk to korean girl and jap neighbour is rather shy by nature though he is more talkative with his friend around.
What shocked us even more is that our ang-moh neighbour (discovered he is norwegian yesterday) is younger than us but we certainly looked way younger than him! -_-" This norwegian neighbour chatted quite well with them too. So do we look that intimidating to the jap and korean!?? Well, the only conclusion we can derive is that japan and korea are neighbours and so they are nearer in term of culture and hence more things to talk about though they still talk in quite halting english to one another. And norwegian neighbour can speak fluent japanese as he studied in japan previously. Another reason is that singaorean girls are not conservative enough. I think the jap guys are quite shocked / surprised when I walked into the kitchen in my camp t-shirt and fbt-lookalike shorts. Pooh is dressed slightly better in t-shirt and long trackpants. But I think both of us looked equally crappy to them coz they are dressed in our 'almost can go out clothes' and they wear quite a few layers, which led to jap neighbour's friend asking if I feel cold in my shorts. -_-" Well, its cold but there is heater in the room what!
