Company Visits

So far the school arranged for 4 company vists and I think today's visit to the classification society Det Norsk Veritas (DNV) should be the last one. The previous companies include the Norwegian Shipowners Assocaiation, Skuld and William Wilhmensen. Both WW and DNV have beautiful office grounds and I think DNV has the best seaview. Both WW and DNV are situated by the water! DNV is oh-my-god huge for a company. It view is fantastic and many of us were quick to exclaim that we don't mind working there. lolz. Imagine taking a long along the pathway and looking the the sea and sun during lunch hour (which we saw a few employees did) or after work. Bliss. The water is so blue and clear. The sky is also so blue. If one thing I will miss when I leave, it would be the nice blue sky and water. The feel is different from what you'll get when you're standing in say East Coast facing the sea with huge vessels moving in and out infront of you.

The WW building

Class photo. This is 3/4 of the year 3 cohort and yes the ration of males:females is very unbalanced at 1:3. haha! Now who says shipping is male dominated?? =p

WW

Looking out from DNV's building.

DNV's office is built on an old glass factory and they preserved some of the original brick buildings.

Look at this view. Right at the doorstep!

This dog kep barking at us when we walked over to that area. In fact it barked and then made some wolf-like howling sound scaring the hell out of us. And don't ask me why are there people walking their dog in the company compound, I really don't know.

Nice.

That's DNV from afar.
First she took a slanted photo.
Then she showed her 'heavenly finger' in this photo YET she asked whose finger is it while reviewing the photo.

And finally a decent photo capturing the nice view. Haha!

Btw, the heavenly finger does not belong to me.
