Hiking Day

Winter is fast approaching and temperature is dropping lower each day. We barely see the sun these days, as in the sun is out but often it is covered by the fog and all. We saw that the weather will be lovely today at max 10 degrees and min 2 degrees and so decided to try conquering the mountain (or rather hill I think. but then if Bt Timah is a hill then this might be a mountain..=p) behind where we live and also to look for raspberries and blueberries! This is really good weather as we only see -2 to 5 degrees for the past few days. Well, we didn't exactly manage to conquer the moutains but we did had a good hike for like 1.5 hours, not all the way to the top though, just to maybe mid-level and then we came down. But we didn't manage to see any berries at all as it is way too cold now. One of our classmates did pluck some raspberries back in Sept when it is still summer.

18 ladies and 1 guy or rather (18 beauties and 1 beast as they put it) turned up for this hike! Didn't expect so many people to turn up.... as quite a handful are travelling this weekend and 19 people is like half the class! And so 19 of us set off at 9am for the hike!

The glorious sun casting shadows!

We had to cross this field. It looked like Malaysia doesn't it? With the hanging cables overhead.

A stream in the forest

The sun was too bright today. All our faces are so bright no matter how we try to dodge from the sunlight.

See this evil girl trying a robot pose. Haha! That bag is the free bag given to all exchange students. It looked and is of better quality than last year's.

Sognsvanne Lake

There are houses on near the mountains and we saw this! Too short to be a horse but then if it is not a horse, what is it? Notice it is wearing "clothes" as well!
This erm..horse? is nicer.

While walking back we saw this vehicle spraying water all over this open space. Guess what it is for.

It is to freeze that area to prepare for ice-skating!! A thin layer of ice is already formed. So cool!! This skating ring is very near where I live!

Since today's weather is so good, we decided to visit the Holmenkollen Ski Jump as well! The initial plan was to hike from Kringsja to Frogsterene and then walk down to Holmenkollen but it is pure madness coz it will take at least 4 hours! And so after the morning hike we went back for lunch and then 6 of us decided to take a train there instead.

That house behind me is actually a cafe/restaurant at the top of the mountain!! It is way cool. Many people drove up to have their lunch or just to have some coffee and enjoy the scenery, the sun and all.

Nice sunset.. yep.. u get this at around 2pm as the sun is gone after 4.30pm. So yep, 2pm is the equivalent of like 5pm.

The sea from afar. We still can't figure out how to get there though.

The kind of roads we have to conquer to reach the ski jump

The ski-jump. Its 132m! It has been modified at least 20 times since its beginning and each time it get extended longer and longer.

Where do the rich people live? On the mountain top of course! There were lots of pretty houses. Btw, this photo shows a hotel! Must be for those people who travel here to ski.

Maomao attempting the jump in the middle of the road and right outside someone's house.

Kiwi's turn.

And now my turn! Somehow I don't know how to jump w/o opening my eyes wide. So i end up with a very weird expression each time I jump. -_-"

Nice sunset. This is around 3.45pm

There is something nice about those bare trees and the nice soft glow of sunset that I like! =)
